My story of owning a Thor Motorcoach

After owning a Thor Motorcoach for almost 2 ½ years, I have decided to sell this coach.

My price is $750K

This is less than what I’ve got in it.

I am selling this Thor Motorcoach because of all the defects with this product and it still has unresolved defects that Thor can’t fix - doesn’t know how to fix.

A review of the “Problem Lists” shows what I’ve been through.

It’s been like a full-time job documenting all the flaws with this coach, taking it back and forth to the dealer (Motor Home Specialist, MHSRV) and also to Freightliner service centers. One unresolved problem is “The stereo controls (volume up/down & mute) on the steering wheel stop working”.

This defect had been duplicated by the dealer (Motor Home Specialist, MHSRV) & Motor Home Specialist RV has a 2nd Thor Motorcoach with the same problem.

This is the response I received from a Thor representative;

“We are doing all that we can to try and recreate your intermittent issues, and or get this addressed. I would like to state that nothing is preventing you from using your coach at this time. Thank you” 

Notice they always like to say, “nothing is preventing you from using your coach at this time.”

But I am prevented from using it because its in the shop for weeks (sometimes months) trying to get Thor's defects fixed.

One the service technicians told me that Thor has the most problems of all the brand they sell and my experience is similar to other Thor customers they have.

Multiple people at Motor Home Specialist RV have told me that they have received new Motorcoach's from the factory with no pluming installed.

This confirms to me that Thor has no “quality control” based on the comments I’ve heard from the dealer and from my own experience.

For full discloser;

At this time, these are the known defects that are still open and not resolved;

-> The stereo controls (volume up/down & mute) on the steering wheel stop working (reported many times before)

-> The living room TV doesn’t receive local channels from Air (antenna), nothing to do with satellite (reported many times before)

-> Generator exhaust pipe is loose and rattles against to frame of the Motorcoach

-> Water leak over the bed during rain 

-> Not able to turn on the Floor Heaters. There is just a "Dash" displayed instead of "Off (the cause of this defect has not been identified & resolved)

-> Thor installed a "scratch & dent" washer unit in this new Motorcoach that does not work

For these reasons, this Motorcoach is available and for sell.

On a good note, this Motorcoach has barely been used because it's been in the shop or unusable for most of its life.
